Lin’An Lion’s Head

Chinese Name: 临安狮子头山 On TheCrag: link

Lin’an Lion’s Head is a climbing destination deep in the bamboo mountains in Zhejiang province. The actual crag is adjacent to a village called Longshang//龙上村, just near the city of Lin’An, but not directly in it. Despite this, climbers in the area just generally refer to this climbing spot as “Lin’an”. It’s about a 2 hour drive from Hangzhou, and a 3-4 hour drive from Shanghai.

The style is relatively unique for China — granite!! And lots of lines.

I love this place, one of my favorite places in the world. For sure. I spent countless weekends here during my time living in Shanghai, and I miss it dearly. Here are some pictures.
