Grand Tetons and Jackson, WY
Where can I even start? This is an incredible place with tons of climbing, this is just my (very limited) experience in Jackson.
There were two really awesome bouldering spots and one sport climbing crag we went to while visiting Jackson, Wyoming.
Also, side note for emphasis: this is the most incredibly beautiful place I went to in the USA. The tetons are mind expanding. I’d love to come back here when I’m serious about mountaineering and climb the tetons, preferably the 5.7 lower exum route. I’m thinking about doing it with my friend Trevor who runs a guide company called Guides of Jackson Hole.
Anyhow, I digress. The beta.
Jenny Lake Boulders

This was actually the last thing I climbed in Jackson before heading to the east coast. We climbed the Red Cross boulder in Jenny Lake. Very easy access, and actually pretty decent rock quality.
Fun climbing, and I loved the feeling of climbing where the greats like Yvon Chouinard and John Gill used to train back in their day.

I actually really rate this spot. Not a ton of boulders, but good rock quality — some kind of quartzite. Mostly lowball river boulders, which means good on the hands. Fun vibes in a beautiful location!
A general overview of the potential in this area. Lots of unsent boulders.

It’s easy on the hands, unless you punch it directly as a result of blowing out. I kept slipping + punching the rock with my knuckles on accident.
Some day I would like to go back and send Resurgence v5. At the time, I did feel like this boulder is doable — just didn’t have time to devote to it. A full session or two should be enough. Also, it’s just a cool line. The type of boulder you look at and can tell immediately where the line would be.
Blacktail Butte

This is the sport climbing crag I went to while in Jackson. Nothing mind blowing, but fun, and a cool local vibe. Wear a helmet at this crag.
