Soften butter to room temperature
Many recipes calle for “room temperature” butter, and/or “room temperature” egg. This is not optional, usually.
But also, I never have room temperature butter. I keep my butter in my fridge, thank you very much.
Here is how to soften butter to room temperature, quickly.
- Put a bowl of water in the microwave for 2-4 minutes
- Take it out
- In a second bowl, put your butter
- Put that bowl in the now empty microwave, don’t turn on the microwave
- Leave it in there for 10 mins or so.
