Chyah Chyah + The National Park Ranger
Lately I’ve been somewhat bummed to be here. I’m not necessarily sure if I like it here, I still feel out of place. I feel like I don’t belong. I also feel like I’ve gotten few moments of serenditous luck, no special lucky moments for me here in NY. In fact, quite the opposite. I have a tendency to attract homeless people and crazies.
Chyah Chyah, on the other hand, has had many moments of luck and serendipity here in New York. “This city loves me!”, she exclaims, on a regular basis. So smug!
Anyhow, on this contextual backdrop, the follow occurences did take place.
We were walking down the street, me talking about how crazy it feels here and how I haven’t had any big lucky breaks in this city. Chyah Chyah told me, “Just think of New York City like a national park. It’s constantly changing. You can just go out into the city, walk around, and explore. You’ll see something new and beautifulk everytime, just like a national park.”
I was pondering this as we walked, when literally within two minutes a NATIONAL PARK SERVICE FOREST RANGER literally walked past us in the street! In the middle of Manhattan! What the literal fuck. I was flabergasted. It’s like seeing a unicorn on the moon. Can Chyah Chyah see the future?
