Morning Gun Scuffle

This morning I was watching the Tour de France Femmes, chilling, coding, drinking my yerba maté, when I heard some yelling and loud noises outside my Bedstuy window. I looked out the window into the street.

A lot going on out there. Firstly, down the street east on Bainbridge, next block over, there was what I can only describe as “all black harley davidson motorcycle club”. That was the source of the loud noises, middle aged black dudes on their harleys revving the very loud engines. All normal. There’s also a mentally ill guy standing in the street, seemingly stuck in the crosswalk, yelling. Dangerous, yes, but not unusual around here. He may or may not be aware of his situation.

So far, just normal Brooklyn activities.

That’s when I noticed the unusual thing. Just westward down the street, right on my block across the street directly across from my window, a dude with a gun. Young black dude, looks very fit, shirt off, six pack, with a black handgun/pistol hanging out of his waistband. Yelling eastward down the street, hand firmly on his pistol. About 3 minutes later a dude (kid, basically) rolls by on his bike — the target of the gun dude. Gun dude takes his pistol out, pointing it at the dude on the bike as he rolls by.

Thus far, no shots fired, dude on bike just rolls by. Gun guy chases him down the street. Gun guy comes back and spends the next hour or so angrily stomping around our street with his gun in his waistband while the girls living across the street also do a lot of yelling (“you’re gonna get caught”, “you’re a pussy”, etc.).

I might point out while this happens, a white lady with a poodle and an iced coffee walks by, nose in phone. Redhead lady with a baby (babymomma of English guy acorss the street) walks by. Asian kid with headphones walks straight through the scuffle. None of these people even realized this man has a gun.

Anyways, just crazy Bedstuy stuff.,
